Dear colleagues, We would like to invite you to join us for two events co-organized or moderated by members of EIRENE<https://eirene.eu/> at the ICRI Conference<https://icri2024.au/>. 1. Breakout session (in person/online) Session 15: Using RI to investigate and document the impacts of the environment on human health (click for more details<https://icri2024.au/program/session-15-using-ri-to-investigate-and-document-the-impacts-of-the-environment-on-human-health/>) When: Wednesday, December 4, 2.00pm - 2.50pm AEST (5:00am EST) This session will examine the complex interplay between environmental factors, social determinants, climate change, and human health, focusing on the vital role of global collaboration in research infrastructures (RIs). Key topics include investing in coordinated efforts to accelerate the translation of theoretical research into practical applications, and establishing global exposome collaborations to comprehensively study the cumulative effects of environmental exposures on health. The session will also highlight the integration of Indigenous knowledge systems to deepen our understanding of environmental changes and their impacts. By exploring these elements, we aim to identify future RI needs and foster innovative approaches to addressing global health challenges related to environmental and social factors. 1. Side event (in person) Human Exposure Assessment for the Evaluation and Prevention of Chemical Risks (click for more details<https://icri2024.au/human-exposure-assessment-for-the-evaluation-and-prevention-of-chemical-risks/>) When: Monday, December 2, 12:15PM – 5:00PM Where: QAEHS, 4/20 Cornwall St, Woolloongabba QLD 4102 Delivered by Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences Event Description This event focuses on the integration of existing research infrastructures into activities that investigate the impact of chemical exposure on health and the factors influencing it. The goal is to establish a Pacific Regional infrastructure network, leveraging existing networks from Europe and North America, to contribute to global efforts in creating a comprehensive human biomonitoring system. The session will take place on site at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences<https://qaehs.centre.uq.edu.au/>.
