Dear ENVRI Board colleagues,

This mail is for information especially for the ERIC directors that were not able to join our meeting in Marseille.

As the ERIC directors saw in the mail sent by Emmanuel earlier this week, I have sent my expression of interest on the ERIC Forum Vice Chair position. I was asked by Bonnie Wolf-Boenish, CESSDA Executive Director, to step up as a candidate for the Vice Chair position to form a team with her, and to support her in leading the Forum, and after a long consideration I said yes. I feel that we would form a good team. Main motivation for my decision was, however, that in this role I could bring ENVRIs more in centre of ERIC Forum.

However, as was discussed in the ENVRI Board earlier this week, I was not fully aware of the rules for the representation of domains in ExBo, when applying. Due to these rules, if I am elected, it means that the position of ENVRI ExBo member will change to Vice Chair position. In our ENVRI Board meeting today, the ERIC members present endorsed the possibility to have this role for an ENVRI member. I attach here again my motivation letter, as info for whole ENVRI Board.

The election will be held in the next ERIC Forum meeting, and each ERIC director will be able to vote.
