Dear ENVRI Board,
As discussed yesterday, I share the information we received from Mihaela on the meeting the EC representatives had with AGU.
AGU is looking forward to the possibility of working together with ENVRI. With the project they will start they have possibility to address data resilience issues, following 4 main threads:
1. NSF Repository Stability
2. NASA/NOAA/USGS - Supporting existing work with datasets risk analysis and mitigations plans.
3. Global Coordination - working with international bodies to create something sustaining and enduring.
4. Sustainability and funding.
As mentioned, the initiative will have a kick-off meeting in
Berlin from the 23rd-27th of March, and it would be important that the key European stakeholders are well represented at this meeting.
I will inform them that ENVRI welcomed the idea and that many RIs are interested to hear more and participate in the initiative.
We do not have more information on the program of the kick-off etc. yet but we will inform you as soon as we know.
As for the request to share any information on the networks that may be under threat, any collaboration and actions you have had towards data security, you can inform
Mihaela Constantin also directly (Mihaela.CONSTANTIN@ec.europa.eu).
Best wishes for the weekend

Dear Eija, Emmanuel, Michel,
We just wanted to inform you that the meeting with AGU went very well today. They are looking forward to the possibility of working together with you. The grant secured will give them the possibility
to address data resilience issues, following 4 main threads:
1. NSF Repository Stability
2. NASA/NOAA/USGS - Supporting existing work with datasets risk analysis and mitigations plans.
3. Global Coordination - working with international
bodies to create something sustaining and enduring.
4. Sustainability and funding.
Please note that the entire initiative will have a kick-off meeting in
Berlin from the 23rd-27th of March, and we should make sure that the key European stakeholders are well represented at this meeting. Please let us know if you manage to address this topic tomorrow and what the thoughts of the ENVRI community
are on these recent developments.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Mihaela

Dear Mihaela,
Thank you very much for informing me. This is important for the environmental RIs. On Friday, I am travelling the morning, and but 12h CET can work, preferably 14h CET, in case there are delays with
the flights/trains.
Best wishes
Michel
