Dear colleagues, As you’ll know, I’m new into the European RI/ ERIC scene. At present, EMPHASIS is receiving numerous requests during ‘funding proposal season’ to serve on the Advisory Board of various proposals being developed (Cluster calls or other programmes). I’m interested to know how other RIs handle this? There is an obvious resource impost (time etc) but no resource allocation from the project for such (at least this is my understanding). But there may be strategic and other value derived from providing such a service to projects. Also, it is not known at the time of committing to join any such AB whether the project will indeed be funded (odds being low, but not easily predicted). I’d be very grateful for insights that any of you are willing to share by return email, either reply-all (if you think others might be interested), or directly to me, about how your RI handles such requests- whether you have a cap on the number you can accommodate at any given time, or if you have a policy or transparent principles that guide which you say ‘yes’ to and which you don’t. I know everyone’s inboxes constantly groan with requests, but if anyone can spare me a couple of minutes to share their expertise on this topic, I’d be hugely grateful! 😊 Best, Susie Robinson, Ph.D. Interim Director-General EMPHASIS Coordination Office European Infrastructure for Plant Phenotyping VIB Agro-Incubator Kerrebroek 66b, 9850 Nevele, Belgium https://emphasis.plant-phenotyping.eu/ [cid72450*image001.png@01DC814C.9DE39E70]
